Reads are never rate-limited or counted against your monthly cap. Only writes (
add,update,delete,sync,import) consume ops.
What's an "op"?
One call to the managed API that mutates state. read / list / get / history / usage / status are not counted.
Overage
If you exceed your monthly cap, writes are billed at $0.05 per 1 000 extra ops. You get an email at 80% and 100%. At 2× your cap, writes auto-pause until the next period or until you upgrade — reads keep working.
Storage cap
When you hit your memories_stored cap, new add calls return HTTP 507. Delete old memories (or upgrade) to continue.
Upgrading / downgrading
Upgrade takes effect immediately; the difference is prorated on your next invoice. Downgrade takes effect at the end of the current billing period — your data stays intact.
Free plan note
The Free tier is local only. Managed API calls with a free-plan key return HTTP 403 with an upgrade link. The local SDK and am CLI work forever at no cost — your data stays on your machine.
